Busy, Busy times. Track 1 left on Friday for their winter holiday.
I encourage each of you to sign in on Edmodo or email me for a link to work on the Hour of Code. There are over 20 different, free activities and lessons to explore and learn more about how computers and our world uses Computer Coding.
We have held two AIG Parent Meetings in the past month and there are two scheduled this week during school on December the 9th. I hope to see you there.

Updates to AIG from County/Regional meeting
New AIG Plan has been approved for beginning Fall of 2014
Continued PULL-OUT of identified Students. Beginning Fall 2014 all (Moderate, Strong, Very Strong )students will be pulled as AIG. Their paperwork will say their level but they will all be grouped for elementary pull-out 45 minutes for ELA identified enrichment, and 45 minutes for Math identified enrichment.
New requirements for testing:

Magnetic Fields
and Electro Magnets
There are several 5th graders who are not registered to go at this point. Please email me your attendance or non-participation.
Monday, February 24th 4th grade identified AIG students will go at 1 PM with parent chaperone's and I to Material Science at NCSU.
We will be working and learning about:
Magnetism,
Oxidation Reaction,
Magnetic Fields
and Electro Magnets
Students will be expected to fill out their AIG Journal for each of the labs. Each lab will have an illustration, KWL, vocabulary and basic proceedure notes. Notebooks should be turned in before Thursday.
Students have to wear closed shoes. If you have on sandals you will not be allowed to go into some labs.
At this point there are still 5 students who have not signed up. Students who do not attend should also have an email from the parents stating that they are staying at school.
